We are excited to announce the recent addition of Emily and Ava to the ever-growing Lorax team in June 2018!
Emily LeMay has come on board as an Assistant Project Manager. She holds a master’s degree in Environmental Science from American University and has three years of environmental compliance experience at the local government level. Emily’s strengths include public outreach and seeing the big picture. In all aspects of her life, she is a huge proponent of efficiency. Emily is working on her LEED accreditation and is very eager to learn the ins and outs of the green building industry and the various rating systems. Given her experience working with facilities engineers and property managers to improve recycling systems, Emily is particularly interested in sustainable operations and maintenance for existing buildings.
In her spare time, Emily is hard at work on her organic rooftop garden and in search of the best vegan soul food in Baltimore. She also loves DIY projects and is already brewing some kombucha in the office — we can’t wait to try it.
Ava Calvano was thrilled to join Lorax Partnerships as an Assistant Project Manager. With a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Sustainable Engineering from Villanova University, Ava brings both a versatile technical skillset and an in-depth understanding of green design principles to the team. She is eagerly learning the intricacies of the LEED rating system and the art of successful project delivery under the direction of veteran Loraxians.
Ava is a Maryland native and long-time resident of the “Greatest City in America” – Baltimore. She is an outdoor enthusiast, and spends most weekends bird-watching, kayaking, hiking, or camping in the closest available green space. Recently, Ava joined the incredible volunteer community at the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), where she can be found whenever her own beloved cat does not feel like hanging out.
Welcome to the team, Emily and Ava!
