M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens — 2013 Superbowl Champions, is owned and operated by the Maryland Stadium Authority. The stadium is a 5-story, 1,6598,137 SF building in downtown Baltimore, with over 72,000 spectator seats; some of which are enclosed suites. The Ravens, in conjunction with the Maryland Stadium Authority (MSA), wanted to step forward as a leader in the stadium industry by pushing the envelope with energy efficiency and sustainability.
In 2011, The Ravens and MSA kicked-off their sustainability endeavor by engaging Lorax. By November 8, 2013, M&T Bank Stadium became the first existing outdoor professional sports facility in the U.S. to receive a LEED EB: O+M v2009 Gold certification by updating their operations practices. In December 2017, The Ravens and MSA took the first steps towards the recertification of the stadium. The team pursued recertification through the Arc Performance Pathway using the LEED EB: O+M v4.1 rating system and was certified Gold in May 2019.
