Eastern Family Resource Center

The Eastern Family Resource Center is a community shelter and health center that serves people in need in Baltimore County. Located on the campus of the Medstar Franklin Square Medical Center, it replaces the original EFRC shelter, which was outdated and undersized. The new facility offers three different shelter operations: an enhanced shelter for woman and families, a transitional shelter program for women and families, and a new shelter for men. The building offers a family planning center, a substance abuse treatment center, an STD clinic, a supplemental nutrition program, and an infants and toddlers program. Additionally, it offers low cost basic health services for the entire family, such as immunizations, primary care visits, dental, and behavioral services. The new, larger facility along with the increased scope of services that is offered can now effectively serve the growing needs of the community.
