Healthcare for the Homeless (HCH) is an accredited behavioral and ambulatory care facility providing services to people experiencing homelessness and the first LEED NC certified health care facility in the State of Maryland. HCH has many green features including 20% energy use reduction, 41% water use reduction. One challenge included negotiating an onsite storm water management solution due to the building’s location in a flood plain. Lorax handled the Stormwater Management Best-Management-Practices negotiation resulting in the first green roof to manage storm water in Maryland.
