The Wake Forest Innovation Quarter includes a trio of state-of-the-art lab and office space buildings in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The buildings are all major renovations of old RJ Renolds Tobacco warehouses and manufacturing facilities. The buildings have retained some of the nation’s oldest installations of glass block, allowing for natural light while also providing visual obscuration.

Wake Forest Biotech Place
As the first project for Wexford in the Innovation Quarter, Wake Forest Biotech Place set the precedent of exceeding its initial certification goals for buildings to come. Initially hoping to achieve LEED Silver, the team rose to the challenges faced when addressing the historical elements of the building to create a high performing, beautiful, LEED Gold building.
Inmar
Sustainability is especially important to Wexford Science and Technologies and the building’s tenants, BioMed Realty and Inmar. It was through great dedication to project sustainability goals that the Platinum certification for Inmar was achieved.
Wake Forest University School of Medicine
Adding to the beautiful and sustainable campus, the 60 North building houses programs for the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Renovating a historic building to create an innovative, beautiful, and sustainable, project, helped earn another LEED Platinum Certification.
Wake Downtown
In one of the most recent projects, Wake Downtown houses Wake Forest University’s biomedical sciences and engineering programs. Achieving an incredible 83 points out of a possible 110, Wake Downtown provides collaborative and innovative learning spaces for students in yet another LEED Platinum building for Wexford.
